LordLonni.com: WordPress Rebuild
Drag to compare
The site you're on right now. It began as a
WordPress site on a stock theme.
Drag the handle above to see where it started. Every article, photograph, and page
was migrated with the help of Claude. So much time saved. I rebuilt around the
Born to Burn identity: a newspaper
masthead, a custom logo, and dual dark and light themes.
The rebuild replaced a database and a stack of plugins with
static pages. Nothing to query, so
pages arrive as fast as possible. Photographs are resized and
converted to modern formats automatically at build time rather than shipped at full
size by the web framework I'm using. Search-engine optimization is
built into every page: structured data, canonical URLs, social
share cards, a sitemap, and an RSS feed.
The result keeps everything that made the original worth reading. The
Chronicle essays on media and
culture, the photography gallery
and gives them a home that loads instantly, reads well on a phone, and can grow
without a plugin for every idea.
I learned so many new things from this project.
Cheers to WordPress, thank you for the memories.
